Monday Spotlight: Lunar Rocks

Danville Public Library is honored to be hosting lunar rocks and meteorites on loan from NASA this summer. After all, reading takes you everywhere, even the Moon. The week of June 11, we will have several programs featuring these extraterrestrial stones.

Monday June 11 at 6:00 p.m.: Family event for kids of all ages. See actual lunar rocks and meteorites. Learn about the impact asteroids and meteorites on the moon.

Tuesday June 12 at 3:30 p.m.: Kidz Snack Club. Make your own moon rocks! Ages 5-18.

Wednesday June 13 at 3:00 p.m.: This very special event will feature lunar rocks and meteorites from NASA! Teens will work together to show ‘Lava Layering’ and how it helped shape the surface of the Moon. Ages 12-18 only.

Saturday June 16 at 2:00 p.m.: Please join Danville Public Library’s Youth Services Department as we showcase special lunar rocks and meteorites from NASA! This event is open to all ages.
